The results are in!

After looking over everyone’s entry and scoring them according to rank and guild we have discovered our winning guild for job 1!

Congratulations to the Roaring Icebergs whose Team’s secured their victory with a score of 55 points! The Arcent Cinders put up a good fight, in fact it was pretty darn close with them scoring 51 points!

The statistics for the round were quite incredible! Almost scary how even it was! Both guilds had 15 entries: 4 Beginner Rankers, 8 Intermediate Rankers, and 6 Advanced Rankers per guild! What are the odds! The judges for this round were YatterTheMan, Candroo, sapphireluna StunkStunky, and emlz.

Since this is the first judging period we’d like to take the time again to tell you how our judging system works and let you in on what you can do now that the judging phase is over. After the deadline and all of the notes and the entries have been filed into a spreadsheet we assigned judges to the entries. Each judge got entries from both guild insuring that their presence was spread between both guilds respectively. We scored entries on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the best possible score. While this was not needed this round because of how scary even everything was, our scoring system will rely on ratios to keep population balances between guilds in check. For now we went displaying them as the original unaltered score because they reflect just how close it was between both guilds. In the future when we undoubtedly get different number of entries per guild, a larger number of points will be displayed.

Now that judging is done and we have the results, we will begin to factor what this means for the guilds into the prologue of the upcoming mission and the events that come afterwards. While that is being completed you have the option to ask for your score and a critique privately through the group’s notes. Whoever had judged your entry will respond with feedback and your score, letting you know why they gave you the score they did. Please be respectable towards your judge if you do ask for your score and/or a critique, we can’t change a score after the judging phase. The reason we are keeping scores private is to stop from singaling out any particular team because here at Rival Gates everyone’s score is felt in the end results. Whichever guild wins, it is because of the hard work you and your fellow members carried out to attain victory. Both of the guilds fought a great fight, but this is just the beginning for your guilds. There will be another opportunity to sway the tides again during the next job, but for now this upcoming mission will show the fruits of your labor!

Stay tuned for mission one!
